Ecuador - AVENUE OF THE VOLCANOES

Ecuador is a land of volcanoes.  From the north to south, volcanoes (both active and not) dot the center of the country.  South of Quito, you will witness some of the loveliest mountain scenery in Ecuador.  This part of the country was named “Avenue of the Volcanoes” by German explorer, Alexander Von Humboldt.  The area attracts a lot of trekkers and climbers, while the less adventurous, but equally fascinated visitor can take in one of the colourful Indian markets and colonial towns.
